We've reached our first milestone!
We have a set of internal milestones we are aiming to reach. We have just passed the first one. This means we are going to hold a review. The Blog will temporarily stop while we hold this review.
The Rosetta space craft which has been orbiting comet 67p is set to attempt to land on the comet on Wednesday 12th November.
Landing on the comet will be a huge achievement. The lander, named Philae, is due to carry out it's scientific mission which is:
The Mars rover has drilled it's first hole into Martian rock since May
The Nasa rover is driving into the nearby foothills of Mount Sharp, a 5km peak at the centre of Mars' Gale Crater. Researchers hope the chemistry of the rocks at the base of this mountain will reveal new details about the environmental history of Mars.
Already, the one-tonne robot has established that a lake and rivers were present on the floor of Gale billions of years ago. Scientists say conditions during those ancient times could have supported micro-organisms - had they been present.
