After trying to use the landers hammer on all three settings to penetrate the surface of the comet, they had to move to a fourth secret setting nicknamed "desperate mode" which broke the hammer. This leads the scientists to believe the comet has a tensile strength similar to sandstone. This has forced scientists to rethink about what comets are made of.
